Today, Microsoft CEO Satya Nadella published his first book, Hit Refresh: The Quest to Rediscover Microsoft’s Soul and Imagine a Better Future for Everyone. Accordong to the Wall Street Journal, Nadella's memoir "explains [Microsoft's] corporate transformation, lays out his hopeful vision for technological progress and recounts his own rich personal history."
To be sure, Nadella is no ordinary tech CEO. He's been with Microsoft nearly half his life, and, according to the New York Times, "His thoughtfulness stands out in an industry known for big egos and awkward detachment from the real world. He talks a lot about empathy and mindfulness. Those who know him say he means it."
You can read more about Nadella and his new book in a recent Fast Company cover story. And below, in an interview with the Journal, you'll get a chance to see Nadella's shiny personality as he answers numerous questions, addressing what he looks for in new hires, what his best advice is for professionals, what his favorite possession is, and whom he calls his greatest influence.
