About ARUP GROUP LIMITED
Arup Group, a global design and business consulting firm, provides engineering, architectural, and planning services, focusing on building, infrastructure, and consulting projects. Arup Group's service offerings range from acoustics engineering (Arup worked on the Sydney Opera House) to wind engineering (Scotland's Whitlee Windfarm, the largest planned on-shore wind farm in Europe). The company also specializes in transportation infrastructure projects. Arup Group has about 90 offices in more than 30 countries in Africa, Asia, Australia, Europe, the Middle East, and North America. Engineer Ove Arup founded the employee-owned Arup Group in 1946.
The company operates through geographic segments: United Kingdom and Asia (which each accounted for about a quarter of revenues in fiscal 2015), Americas, Europe, Australia, and Middle East & Africa.

Sales and Marketing
Arup serves more than 800,000 customers around the world. Markets served include arts and culture, aviation, commercial, education, energy, government, health care, hotels and leisure, maritime, marine, residential, retail, science and industry, sports, transportation, and water.
The company had seen profits lag due to poor market conditions and currency fluctuations but has been rebounding with the economy. In fiscal 2015, revenue increased 7% to £1.13 billion (versus £1.05 billion in 2014) on higher sales in Asia, the Middle East, and Africa. Arup is concentrating its growth in these buoyant markets due to their increased demand for civil infrastructure and building construction. Higher staff numbers hurt net income, though, which fell 34% that year to £19 million.
Cash flow from operations rose 76% to £71 million, due largely to changes in working capital.
Arup is primarily focused on expanding in key foreign markets, namely North America, China, and India. Those areas have a high need for such works as civil infrastructure, water, and energy projects, which provides the firm with an opportunity to secure more contracts.
