About Sabre Glbl Inc.

Technology powers Sabre to operate in the travel and tourism industry. The company provides software and services to connect travel suppliers -- such as airlines, hotels, car rental brands, rail carriers, cruise lines, and tour operators with travel buyers through one central marketplace. Sabre Travel Network is used by more than 400,000 travel professionals globally to book airline tickets, rental cars, hotel rooms, and vacation packages. The company also provides software and solutions, through software-as-a-service, and hosted delivery model, to airlines and other travel suppliers. More than 30% of the company's sales arise from customers outside the US.

Operations

Sabre operates three business segments: Travel Network, Airline Solutions, and Hospitality Solutions.

The Travel Network division, which generates more than 70% of the company's total revenue, is a global B2B travel marketplace that connects travel suppliers (including airlines, hotels, car rental brands, rail carriers, cruise lines and tour operators) to a large network of travel buyers (such as online and offline travel agencies, travel management companies, and corporate travel departments).

The Airline Solutions segment accounts over 20% of revenue, offers software technology products and solutions, through software-as-a-service and hosted delivery model, to airlines and other travel suppliers. The company offer airline software solutions in four functional platforms: the Sabre Commercial Platform; Sabre AirCentre Operations Platform; Intelligence Exchange Data & Analytics Platform; and Radixx Platform.

The company's Hospitality Solutions business provides software and solutions, through SaaS and hosted delivery models, to hoteliers around the world. This segment generates over 5% of company's total revenue.

Sales and Marketing

Sabre's diverse customer base consists of travel suppliers, including airlines, hotels, car rental brands, rail carriers, cruise lines, tour operators and a large network of travel buyers, including online and offline travel agencies, travel management companies, corporate travel departments, hybrid and low-cost carriers, global and regional network carriers, and other customers such as airports, aviation fleets, governments, and tourism boards.

The company also offer travel suppliers software solutions, ranging from airline and hotel reservations systems to high-value marketing and operations solutions, such as planning airline crew schedules, re-accommodating passengers during irregular flight operations and managing day-to-day hotel operations.

Financial Performance

The company's revenue increased by $108.0 million to $4.0 billion in 2019 from $3.9 billion in the prior year. Revenue increased $76 million, or 3%, for the year ended December 31, 2019 compared to the prior year, primarily due to an increase in transaction-based revenue of $75 million to $2.7 billion.

Net income at fiscal 2019 decreased by $178.9 million to $158.6 million from $337.5 million in prior year. The fall was due to the great increase on their cost of revenue.
