There is a distinct energy that sets Kirkland apart from other firms. A key success factor has been the recruitment of talented and diverse individuals whose ideas drive the Firm forward. If you want to work at a firm that promotes achievement and growth, we invite you to learn more about Kirkland.
Kirkland’s Diversity Programs for Law Students:
1L Diversity Scholars Program
Kirkland’s Virtual 1L Diversity Scholars Program is an elite program that provides early exposure to one of the world’s leading law firm. Selected 1L law students are invited to join Kirkland attorneys, clients and alumni for our two-day program, which will feature professional development sessions geared toward the concerns of diverse law students and will include advice and takeaways to help scholars succeed in BigLaw.
1L Social Justice Fellowship
As a new program this year, our 1L Social Justice Fellowship was created to advance students’ professional development by offering an early view into BigLaw and public interest work. Fellows will gain hands-on experience and form collegial and mentoring relationships as they split their summer between working at Kirkland and working at a public interest organization focused on social justice issues.
2L Diversity Fellowship Program
As a part of our ongoing commitment to diversity, we are proud to sponsor the Kirkland & Ellis 2L Diversity Fellowship Program. Since 2004, Kirkland has sponsored 239 fellows with grants totaling approximately $5 million. In 2020, each Diversity Fellowship recipient received a $25,000* stipend. *$25,000 less all required income and payroll taxes.
