Certification or Licensing
Today's savvy consumers specifically look for certified or licensed arborists when it comes to caring for their trees and other precious landscaping plants. Most arborists are certified or licensed. Certification, given by the International Society of Arboriculture after completion of required training and education, is considered by many as a measure of an arborist's skill and experience in the industry. Available certifications include certified arborist, certified arborist utility specialist, certified arborist municipal specialist, certified tree worker climber specialist, certified tree worker aerial lift specialist, and board certified master arborist. Arborists need to apply for recertification every three years and must complete continuing education classes and seminars.
