The median annual salary for accountants and auditors was $68,150 in May 2016, according to the Department of Labor. The lowest 10 percent earned $42,140 or less, and the highest 10 percent earned $120,910 or more. PayScale reported that in July 2017, audit accountants earned an average annual salary of $54,426, with salaries ranging from $40,134 to $81,349. Those with risk management and risk control experience usually receive higher wages.
