Business continuity planners work indoors in offices and in the offices of the businesses that hire them. Most work full-time hours, with hours extended into the evening and over weekends when project deadlines approach. Travel may be required to visit businesses in other cities or states. They spend part of the work day on computers, conducting online research and e-mailing, on the telephone, and in meetings.
