Clinical research coordinators work for research facilities, universities, hospitals, government agencies, pharmaceutical companies, and site management organizations. Most employers prefer entry-level coordinators have several years or prior clinical research experience. According to the Department of Labor, there were about 54,780 natural sciences managers employed in the United States in May 2016. The DOL does not provide data on clinical research coordinators but some of the responsibilities and job titles within the natural sciences field may overlap with clinical research roles.
