The median salary for cultural advisers employed in New York City was $78,000, while those in Los Angeles earned $48,000. Highly-skilled advisers can earn more than $100,000 annually.Many cultural advisers tend to work on a project basis and are therefore not guaranteed full-time employment. Advisers may incur business expenses, but their clients generally pay many of the expenses associated with the work, such as travel, meals, and lodging. Full-time cultural advisers receive benefits such as health insurance, paid vacation and sick days, and a 401(k) plan.
