Document Management Specialists


Document management specialists create and monitor electronic document management systems for companies. They consult with end users of these systems to identify and correct issues related to accessing electronic content. Specialists are also responsible for monitoring regulatory activities to ensure compliance with document management laws. They prepare training materials and other documentation and share these materials with companies' employees. They work closely with information technology specialists in establishing document management policies and implementing the processing, retrieval, and distribution systems of electronic documents. There were about 261,210 people employed in computer occupations, including document management specialists, in the United States in May 2016, according to the Department of Labor.
