Engineers ("all other") earned a median salary of $97,300 in May 2016, according to the Department of Labor. The lowest paid 10 percent earned $52,570 or less, and the highest paid 10 percent earned $152,970 or more per year. Salaries vary depending upon experience and employer. Those who worked for the federal government in May 2016, for example, earned about $112,460 annually, while those who worked for scientific research and development services averaged $103,420, and engineers employed at aerospace product and parts manufacturing companies earned approximately $98,910 per year.
