The unmanned aircraft systems industry is continuing to grow and drone engineers will be needed by various industries to meet the increase in demand for drones. More consumers are buying and using small drones than in recent years, and the commercial usage of unmanned aircraft systems is also expected to continue growing. Of the three main segments for drones (military, civilian, and commercial), the commercial segment is expected to be the fastest growing in the next few years, according to the 2016 article "Drones Reporting to Work" published by Goldman Sachs. An estimated total of $100 billion will be spent on military and civilian drones by 2020. Of the commercial segment, the fastest growing sectors will be construction (with more than $11 billion spent on drones by 2020), agriculture (nearly $6 billion), insurance ($1.4 billion), and inspection of infrastructure (more than $1 billion).
