Work Environment

Electromechanical engineering technologists work indoors in offices, research laboratories, or manufacturing plants. They may occasionally work outdoors to test various products. Most work full time and the work week is generally 40 hours per week; they may work evenings and weekends on occasion when project deadlines are approaching. The work may be hazardous at times, with risks from working with certain types of equipment, chemicals, or materials. Technologists wear protective gear and follow safety protocols to prevent injuries.
