Wages and salaries for engineers vary greatly by specialty, but starting salaries for engineers are often among the highest offered to workers with a bachelor's degree. A fall 2015 survey by the National Association of Colleges and Employers found that engineers with a bachelor's degree earned starting salaries of $64,891. New graduates with a degree in petroleum engineering majors earned $89,563, the highest starting salary among all engineering majors. Aerospace/aeronautical engineering majors received $63,117, the lowest starting salary.
