English as a Second Language (ESL) Teachers


The U.S. Department of Labor reports that the median yearly salary of adult basic and secondary education and literacy teachers and instructors was $50,280 in May 2015. Earnings ranged from less than $28,870 to more than $83,140 a year. Teachers employed at elementary and secondary schools had mean annual earnings of $59,530. Those who worked at junior colleges earned $53,410. Depending on the state, teachers usually receive a retirement plan, sick leave, and health and life insurance. Some schools may grant sabbatical leave.
