Environmental economists may get voluntary certification to hone their skills and knowledge and show employers they have achieved a recognized level of expertise in their profession. The National Association for Business Economics offers certification in Applied Econometrics or Economic Measurement. The NABE also offers the certified business economist credential. Requirements for certification are a bachelor's degree, NABE membership, two years of related work experience, and passing the certification exam. Find details in the education section of NABE's Web site, https://www.nabe.com.
