The Occupational Outlook Handbook predicts that employment of fashion designers (the job closest to fashion coordinators for which information is provided), will grow more slowly than the average for all careers through 2024. There will continue to be job opportunities for fashion coordinators, but it's important to remember that this is a small field that is difficult to enter. Some opportunities will occur as a result of the creation of new positions in the field or current employees retiring or leaving the workforce for other reasons. Most jobs in the United States will be available in densely populated areas, especially New York City, Chicago, Los Angeles, and Miami.
