There are no requirements to join unions and no national associations that are specific to ACA health insurance navigators. Navigators may wish to join the National Association of Insurance and Financial Advisors (NAIFA), a trade organization representing insurance advisers, which provides advocacy, as well as continuing education on subjects including the ACA. Those working as navigators may also wish to participate in local and state organizations that focus on the needs of the specific population the navigator agency serves.
