Journalism Teachers

Unions and Associations

Unions that represent the interests of journalism teachers include the American Federation of Teachers and the National Education Association. The American Association of University Professors' purpose is to "advance academic freedom and shared governance, to define fundamental professional values and standards for higher education, and to ensure higher education's contribution to the common good." The Journalism Education Association offers membership and certification, publishes Communication: Journalism Education Today, and offers a Mentor Program for new journalism teachers.
