The U.S. Department of Labor (DOL) predicts that employment for medical and clinical laboratory technicians and technologists will grow 16 percent, or much faster than the average, through 2022. Advances in genomics and increasingly powerful diagnostic tests will encourage additional testing and fuel job growth. Laboratory professionals with advanced education and specialized skills will have the best job prospects.
