Median annual earnings of electrical and electronics engineering technicians were $61,130 in May 2015, according to the U.S. Department of Labor. Salaries ranged from less than $36,170 to more than $90,570. Mean annual earnings of technicians who worked in the semiconductor and other electronic component manufacturing industry were $59,450. Those who worked for the federal government earned $66,200. Wage rates vary greatly, according to skill level, type of employer, and location. Most employers offer some fringe benefits, including paid holidays and vacations, sick leave, and life and health insurance.
