Museum Technicians


Because of the great variety of museums, including variety in size, budgets, and exhibition demands, there is a wide salary range among museum technicians. The U.S. Bureau of Labor Statistics reports that the median annual earnings for museum technicians and conservators were $40,340 in May 2015. The lowest 10 percent earned less than $23,200 and the highest 10 percent earned more than $72,570 a year. Museum technicians employed by the federal government in nonsupervisory, supervisory, and managerial positions earned an average salary of $53,180.
