Parking attendants can anticipate average employment growth through 2026, according to the Occupational Information Network. Large organizations with parking facilities, such as airports, hospitals, government agencies, shopping complexes, and corporate complexes, will continue to need parking attendants to meet customers' parking needs. An industry report, called the "Parking Management Industry Forecast," predicts that the global parking market will grow to a $5 billion business by 2021, a $2 billion increase from 2016. As stated in the report, "An increase in the number of vehicles across the world is impelling the demand for an effective system to find solutions to parking concerns... [approximately] 30 percent of traffic congestion occurs due to vehicle drivers struggling to find parking space... The high growth in the registration of new cars will open the window of opportunities for parking management business." Parking attendants who have a good driving record, have several years of work experience, and who are certified as professional parking attendants will have the best chances of finding work.
