Public Relations Specialists

Unions and Associations

Public relations specialists do not typically belong to unions. The Public Relations Society of America (PRSA) is the major membership organization for PR specialists. Membership benefits include access to free webinars, discounts on PRSA conferences and events, access to discussion boards and member directories, and networking opportunities. The International Association of Business Communicators is another leading organization for PR professionals. It offers accreditation, networking opportunities, and useful publications. The Canadian Public Relations Society represents the professional interests of PR workers in Canada. Other helpful organizations include the PR Council, Public Affairs Council, and the National School Public Relations Association.
