Stadium Ushers and Vendors

Outlook

The U.S. Department of Labor predicts about 3 percent employment growth, slower than the average, for ushers, lobby attendants, and ticket takers through 2028. The employment outlook is expected to be especially poor into 2021, due to the coronavirus pandemic. Many sports events have either been postponed or cancelled for 2020. Those sports games and matches that have resumed, such as baseball, basketball, and hockey, are being held in stadiums or alternate locations, with limited schedules, new protocols, and few or no fans in attendance. As a result, ushers and ticket takers are not in demand just yet. Job opportunities are projected to pick up later in 2021, post pandemic.
